Everything You Need to Create
Lunar Print Models

From interactive Moon exploration to print-ready 3MF exports — OrbitStudio handles every step of the workflow.

Interactive Moon Globe

Explore the entire lunar surface with a photorealistic 3D globe powered by Three.js and high-resolution NASA textures. Switch between satellite imagery and topographic map views.

Puzzle & Ornament Modes

Generate interlocking jigsaw puzzles with customizable piece counts, or solid ornaments with snap-fit or loose-fit frames. Choose from circle, square, or hexagon shapes.

Bambu Studio Ready

Export pre-configured .3MF project files with correct multi-color filament assignments. Open directly in Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer — no manual setup required.

Custom Frame Text

Add embossed or engraved text to the frame border. Choose custom labels like "MOON 2026" or auto-generate the coordinates of your selected region.

Filament Color Preview

Preview your model with real Bambu PLA filament colors — Silk Copper, Silk Gold, Ash Gray, and more. Colors are embedded directly into the 3MF export.

Real NASA Data

Powered by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) LOLA instrument. We process over 530MB of high-resolution elevation data to generate accurate topography.

From Data to Physical Print

OrbitStudio streamlines the entire process of generating 3D printable terrain.

01

Choose your spot

Spin the 3D globe, switch to the flat 2D map, or jump straight to a famous place: every Apollo landing site, Tycho, Copernicus, all a click away. Wherever you point, that's your model.

02

Make it yours

Puzzle or ornament. Circle, square, or hexagon. Dial the craters up until the terrain really pops, pick your size and piece count, and emboss your own text around the frame. This is where it becomes yours.

03

Watch it come to life and print it

One click, and your region becomes a finished, snap-together model, with terrain and borders already separated and colored. Download one ready-to-print file, drop it into your slicer, and go. No CAD. No mesh repair. No headache.

The Moon is Just the Beginning

The Moon is our first destination. With your support, our vision is to map Mars, Venus, and Mercury. Help us bring the greatest landscapes of our solar system down to Earth.

And that's still just our solar system. The plan doesn't stop there.

Questions About OrbitStudio

Everything about generating, printing and licensing your models. Answers straight from our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

What is OrbitStudio?

OrbitStudio turns real NASA lunar elevation data into 3D-printable models. Pick a region of the Moon, and it generates a jigsaw puzzle or solid ornament — downloadable as an STL file and a pre-configured, Bambu Studio-ready 3MF file.

Do I need an account to use it?

Yes. Generating and downloading models requires an account and a validation code. You can preview a model for free — only unlocking the downloadable files spends a credit.

Is there a limit to how many models I can generate?

A fair-use limit, per account: 100 generations per rolling 24 hours and 5,000 per rolling 365 days. That's far above normal use — it keeps the service fast for everyone and stops automated scraping, not makers. Need more? Email us and we'll normally raise it.

Can I sell prints I make with OrbitStudio?

Every tier lets you print for yourself and give prints as gifts. Selling physical prints requires the Merchant tier — on that tier you can sell prints and use photos or video of them commercially, though the digital files themselves can never be resold or redistributed on any tier.

Is a printed puzzle safe for kids?

Printed puzzles are not toys and are not suitable for children under 3 — small interlocking pieces are a choking hazard. Keep printed pieces away from small children and pets, and supervise older children.

How accurate is the terrain — is it real NASA data?

Yes. Models are derived from NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter mission — LOLA elevation data and WAC imagery. Terrain is vertically exaggerated so it reads clearly at print scale, so models are decorative representations rather than survey-grade or true-to-scale.

What files do I get, and will they work with my printer?

Every generated model downloads as an STL file and a pre-configured 3MF project file with filament colors already set for Bambu Studio and Orca Slicer. Always check geometry, wall thickness and supports in your own slicer before printing — printers, profiles and materials vary.

Can I get a refund on unused credits?

Credits and Passes aren't refundable once a code is redeemed, and they have no cash value. That's because access begins immediately when you redeem — this doesn't affect your statutory rights if something we deliver is faulty.

Can I delete my account and my data?

Yes, any time, from your account settings. We remove your account data within 30 days, except where we're required to keep records by law.
